Brian (Diesel) Rusty. Brian lives in Matamata. Brian is a motorcycle legend in New Zealand for his home constructed Diesel motorcycle. See the bottom of this page for more details on this machine. Brian was a starter in the first Grand Challenge. He was one of only 4 riders to complete the first 10 Grand Challenges. And the only 1 to do so on the same bike. Brian is usually head of the scrutineering team and seems to be just about every where on a Rusty run. Has amazing socialing skills.

The other riders to complete the first 10 Grand Challenges were Andy King, Cameron Smith, and Kevin Farrelly. Of these four Andy and Cameron are still going strong and have completed every Grand Challenge event.
